MR Harry Sidley, of The Cloisters, Waterfoot, died peacefully on Saturday, January 8, aged 90.

He leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Frances Emily, his two sons, Tony and Gary, four grandchild­ren, Richard, Elizabeth, Ryan and Rebecca, and two great-grandchild­ren, Antony and Vy-An.

Harry worked for most of his life as a maintenanc­e engineer.

In his younger years he was a keen sportsman; goalkeepin­g for several local football clubs including Waterfoot Albion and Accrington Stanley, and subsequent­ly playing golf as a member of Rossendale Golf Club.

Over recent decades, Harry’s main interests have been gardening and his beloved Golden Retriever dogs.

A service will take place at St Peter’s Church, Haslingden, on Tuesday, January 25 at 2pm, followed by cremation at Accrington Cemetery.

Family flowers only please. If desired, donations can be made to the RSPCA.
