Steps to help more than 4,000 find jobs

-

A PROJECT to help more than 4,000 job seekers living in Lancashire find jobs has been launched.

MPT Steps launched this month and will address the ‘issues faced by disadvantaged Lancashire communities in accessing or re-accessing the job market as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic’.

Funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) programme, it’s hoped that it will help people who lost their jobs during the pandemic to find new careers.

It comes four years after the last MPT or More Positive Together Lancashire programme helped to support more than 5,000 people in the area with finding a job.

One partner within the programme is Progress Housing Group, a not-for-profit housing provider in Lancashire that delivers supported living and housingrelated services to communities in the area.

The group offers one-on-one mentoring and support for individuals who are seeking employment or may need help in finding the tools or resources they need to start their careers.

The MPT Steps project is set to run until December 2023.
