ALAN PAPWORTH

MR Alan Papworth, of Milton Close, Helmshore, passed away at home on Thursday, January 13, aged 91, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Jean for nearly 68 years and leaves his sons Craig and partner Jacqui, Ian and his late wife Catherine, granddaughter Rachael and her husband Adam, and grandson Daniel.

Alan was a former chairman of Haslingden Cricket Club and a staunch member of St Thomas Church,

Musbury. He was a retired Chartered Engineer and spent time working abroad, mainly in Africa and the Middle East, but also in many European countries.

He liked to watch cricket and football and to listen to classical music.

Most of all, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

Alan’s funeral will be conducted by Fr David Stephenson on Tuesday, February 1, at 1.15pm at St Thomas Church Musbury, followed by a cremation at Accrington. Family flowers only, with donations if desired to
