Nature in focus
BY his own testimony Mike Delderfield has spent “a fair amount of time” photographing wildlife living in and around the Grane Road/ Holcombe Road area.
These are just some examples of Mike’s stunning array of photos of local wildlife, particularly deer and birds, captured on the site where Taylor Wimpey has gained permission to build 130 new homes.
“I’m quite new to the area but very much oppose the development and it would be nice to keep the development in people’s minds,” Mike, from Helmshore, told the Free Press.
“I also think it is nice to share some of the local beauty that is the wildlife living in the area.”
The Grane Residents Association say bats, foxes, deer, owls, newts, frogs, toads and butterflies have been seen on the land.
Although many objection representations to the scheme from local residents related to ecological and wildlife matters, the relevant consultees confirmed that subject to planning conditions and a Section 106 Agreement, the proposed development was acceptable in regards to habitats, biodiversity and landscaping.
