Linking public with vital help
THIS week, we are providing an update on the work of Network member Haslingden Community Link (HCL) and their contribution to supporting our community.
Haslingden Community Link, managed by Andrew Mullaney and his team, is a registered charity in Haslingden providing a range of services including a community centre, nursery and catering business.
One core service is The Link Café, a community café that focuses on supporting the community by providing healthy affordable meals in a social environment designed to be dementia-friendly.
The menu offers a range of breakfasts, soups, sandwiches and main meals.
They also provide special daily meal offers. Barista style coffee and a selection of cakes and pastries are also available.
The Link Nursery is an Ofsted registered nursery that has been in operation for more than 20 years.
Their nursery is a happy environment where the staff focus on your child’s well-being and involvement, which leads to high levels of child development.
The children enjoy phonics and open- ended resources with the EYFS curriculum formed around their interests and needs.
The nursery is run by a highly qualified team who have been working there for many years and have built up strong and consistent bonds with the children in their care.
The Link Centre is also host to a number of weekly activities including Up and Active, sequence dancing, crafternoons drama pop, friends reminisce and get into gardening sessions.
Space is also available for hire for events, meetings and celebrations.
