ROSSENDALE RAMBLERS

-

A BUSY week for our group, showcasing the range of

walks that we offer to all you adventurous Rossendale Free Press readers!

On Wednesday, May 4, 18 Ramblers had quite a challenging 11-mile walk from Grassington to Conistone and Malham Moor.

It took in the Linton Falls hydroelectric scheme en-route.

The weather was variable, but the terrain was magnificent, with the descent of Conistone Dib

- a narrow rocky gorge – topping it off.

More straightforward, on Thursday, May 5, we had our first evening pub walk of the year from

Rawtenstall town centre.

The weather was beautiful and the 18 walkers and two dogs enjoyed the views on this two-hour walk and the camaraderie in the pub afterwards.

Finally, on Sunday, May 8, 15 walkers enjoyed a sunny rural ramble.

It was full of great scenery and local history, along with spring flowers and lambs galore.

Coming up, on Wednesday, May 18, we have a nine-mile walk in the High Peak, promising lovely scenery and abundant local interest, so please join us if you can.

To complete the set, on

Thursday, May 19, we have another two-hour evening pub walk, this time from Haslingden.

This is a varied walk that will finish with a visit to the highest church above sea level in the country.

Hope to see you there. These walks are free, but after three walks with us we ask you to join The Ramblers, at a cost of only £3.05 per month.
