A RECIPE FOR DISASTER

-

LOCAL developers B & E Boys have submitted an application to build nine houses on their own land at Heath hill, just off Booth Road Stacksteads.

A proportion of the green belt will be excavated to install new drainage, land which has invasive species of plants, which will prove to be problematic if not dealt with correctly.

It borders in extremely close proximity to Special Category Housing, specifically built for the elderly.

The disruption caused by this build will be of great upset and distress for people, some of who are the most vulnerable in our society.

Surely the council should be putting their needs first by improving the valley’s infrastructure.

Schemes such as this and many others currently in the hands of the planning department are putting a huge burden on local resources.

Record waits for doctors appointments, over subscribed schools.

Throw into the mix crumbling roads due to disrepair and neglect, add heavily laden lorries and plant machinery for this and any other build and it’s a recipe for disaster which will deteriorate the state of the roads even more.

Booth Road is very busy as it is regularly used as a cut through when Bacup Raod has temporary traffic lights, which is on a regular basis, plus not everyone sticks to the speed limit.

These are the things that should be tackled first.

So I’d urge people to object not just to this development reference 2022/0490 on the RBC planning portal but to all that put more pressure on the valleys infrastructure.
