Ian was a local milkman for many years up until his retirement. He also enjoyed farming.

Husband to the late Irene Alice, Ian leaves behind his children Denise, David and

Sharon, eight grandchild­ren and one great-grandson, his sister Winifred and brother Malcolm.

A service will be on Friday, May 19 at Burnley

MRS Carmel Coaker, of Greenbrook House, Whitworth, formerly of Dog Pits Farm, Bacup, died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Monday, May 1, aged 78 years.

A requiem mass will be held at St Marys and St

Anselms RC Church, Bacup, on Wednesday, May 17 at 11am, followed by interment in Bootle cemetery at 2pm, conducted by Father Chris McGrane.

Carmel lived in Liverpool until moving to Southend-on-Sea where she trained to be a nurse.

She then moved to Wales, before moving to Bacup in 1980 where she worked as a Health Visitor and ran the Bacup Newsagent shop with her late husband.

Carmel enjoyed cross stitch, knitting and embroidery, but was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends.

Wife of the late Frank who died 11 years ago, she leaves daughters Jacqui, Rachel and Katie, granddaugh­ter Felicity, extended family and many friends.
