Park party crowns big day
MORE than 1,000 people attended an event celebrating the coronation of King Charles III.
Families gathered at Nuttall Park in Ramsbottom on Sunday, May 7 for the action-packed event, which was organised by Friends of Nuttall Park, a charity committed to looking after the park and raising money for it.
Occupying the bandstand was Shoehorn, a group made up of five students from Woodhey High School based in Ramsbottom, who were followed by the Ramshackle Wailers
Choir and then the Goodshaw Brass Band played for a further two hours.
Those who visited the Friends of Nuttall Park Tea
Room were treated to a performance by the Brassie Ladies which was followed by the Rossendale Ukulele Band.

of Friends at Nuttall Park, said: “I want to give a huge thank you to everyone involved in our celebration of the Coronation of King Charles III, for the
generous donation from Taylor Wimpey, the grant from The National Lottery Community Fund, and the valuable support from Ramsbottom Rotary.
“This turned out to be an amazing community event and we’ve had some lovely feedback from those who came.”
Home construction company, Taylor Wimpey Manchester donated £200 towards booking five bands who performed at the park located close to its development in Rossendale, Woodside.
The contribution to the event is part of Taylor Wimpey’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities local to its developments.
Those who attended were able to enjoy a selection of activities such as games and coronation crafts, as well as the Plant Stall which runs at the park every year.
Food and refreshments were provided by charity stalls, commercial traders and Friends of Nuttall Park who were selling homemade cake.
