60s festival to return for another autumn of love

-

A 60S festival is returning to the Valley following the successful relaunch of last year’s festival.

Rossendale 60s Festival is set to return on September 6 and 8 with lots of stalls booked and a headlining 60s group – ‘The Easybeats’ booked to perform alongside lots of very high quality performers doing there ‘60s thing.’

There will be a scooter ride – in through the Valley and on to the square and the Greater Manchester.

Festival Chairman – Peter Sweetmore said: “After last year’s success and requests from everyone attending, we really want to make this year the best yet and hope it will compliment all the venues across the Valley putting on 60s themed events.

“The Festival has been run on a tight budget and we have managed to get a number of sponsors this year, but really could do with one or two more, to enable us to put on a FAB show.”

Police Museum invited to display 60s Police vehicles, with VW Campervans and Beetles from the era.

The festival returned last year after a three year gap due to the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and the Covid pandemic.

Festival organisers say they are making this year’s festival bigger and better.

For the first time

“Sixties on the Square” was created on Rawtenstall Town Square, where more than 25 charity and voluntary organisations had stands to promote themselves, fund raise and recruit new members along with a full live programme of entertainers, 60s buses, Scooters and lots more to delight the hundreds of people attending.

This was as well as more than 40 different 60s themed events in venues across The Valley.
