I have twin daughters who both play rugby. One plays at Premier 15s level and was recently the target of a ‘dangerous tackle’.
The video footage is horrendous – my daughter was knocked out cold.
The tackler was given a three-week ban, while my daughter was out for a month. If the RFU is as serious about head injuries as they purport to be, how can they give such a meagre ban for an incredibly dangerous tackle that resulted in a serious injury?
Would it not make more sense for the player to be given the same amount of time out as the player has to take due to injury? It is not fair for the guilty party to be back out on the pitch before the injured player.
