More Tests please Give power to refs

ReToomanyTests: I en­joyed the ar­ti­cle (Novem­ber is­sue) but I dis­agree. Rugby is a spec­ta­tor sport and there is no greater spec­ta­cle or glad­i­a­to­rial con­test than Test rugby. We want to see these games! We don’t get that many as it is.

Player wel­fare is im­por­tant but they are paid; they are not shrink­ing vi­o­lets and do not have to play ev­ery game. More Tests means longer game time for more play­ers. This re­sults in bet­ter TMOs are hav­ing too much say in the game. Let the ref­eree make the call as he/she sees it on the field and only let the TMO look at some­thing if the ref­eree asks them to. If the ref­eree makes a mis­take, well, they’re hu­man.

When you slow footage down, things can look so dif­fer­ent (just look at a catch in cricket). Gen­eral
