THE FIRST XV at Merchiston Castle ended 2018 on a high by winning the Scottish Schools U18 Cup at Murrayfiel­d.

Captain James Dobie was Player of the Match as the Edinburgh school beat St Aloysius’ College 40-7 to lift the trophy for a record sixth time – and the first time in ten years.
