Cardiff

Rugby takes pride of place in the Welsh capital – but there’s lots more to see too

-

Bar 44 is opposite the stadium and offers great tapas. For pre-match brunch or lunch, head into the various arcades that come off The Hayes/St Mary’s Street and you’ll discover a plethora of café options.

Caroline Street is famous for its takeaway options, hence the ‘Chip Alley’ nickname, or for more of a fine-dining experience head to Asador 44 or The Potted Pig. towards the Mumbles area and explore the beautiful coastline. Get to the ground early! Increased security checks mean it now takes longer to access the stadium, particularly if everyone descends on the gates close to kick-off time, so head in early and enjoy all the singing beforehand. Plus, if there is an earlier game, this will also be shown on the stadium’s TVs.
