No need to convert

-

An idea that would speed up the game very slightly is to take away the need for a conversion when a try is scored beneath the posts.

Already seven points are awarded for a penalty try and I’ve never, in 42 years of watching our great sport, seen anyone miss a conversion from in front of the posts. The referee can stand between the posts and signal that the conversion does not need to be taken and we can get on with the game.
