Back for backchat
Watching the crowd-free Exeter v Northampton quarter-final, it’s easier to hear what is being said on the field. Dan Biggar is a regular at being in the ref’s ear and ‘advising’ how the game should be managed.
Biggar is world class and is not the only offender in this area. However, it’s not the example to be set when we who coach younger age groups are always advising to respect the ref and any decisions that are given.
Maybe referees need to be stricter on backchat. Ten yards back would be a start!
