THE pupils at St Martin’s School in Northwood, started raising funds for their charity of the year, Young Minds.

They enjoyed a day full of fun filled activities, including making pop up cards, a slime lab, swimming and Friday Film.

All of the boys decorated a white baseball hat to wear in school and the winners received prizes.

Sohan Desai in Year 7 said: “I thought that I hadn’t a chance of winning when I saw all of the hats in my class. I was so surprised when my name was called out!”

Jai Patel in Year 6 was delighted to win, he said: “When the judges called out my name to say that I had won, it was an exciting moment.

“I got inspiration from a television show. I ironed on army patches and made a camouflage pattern with a Sharpie.”

The charity day raised £2,000 which is an excellent start towards the year’s fundraising.
