Saying it with flowers

-

ACROSS the country, people have been leaving floral tributes to Queen Elizabeth II after her death on Thursday September 8.

Some of the places that have seen the most flowers have been the royal residences, such as Buckingham Palace in London, Windsor Castle in Berkshire, Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire and Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

In the capital, floral tributes were moved from Buckingham Palace to Green Park, where there is more space.

On Sunday, so many people flocked to pay their respects that Transport for London was forced to make Green Park Underground Station exit only due to safety concerns over the crowds. As well as flowers, mourners have left photographs of the Queen, written messages, and even marmalade sandwiches, inspired by Her Majesty’s famous sketch with Paddington Bear.

Children have also drawn pictures and placed them among the tributes.
