JESSICA Biel takes the lead in this truecrime series about an 1980s housewife who seems to have an idyllic life until it all falls apart in gruesome fashion. Biel plays Candy Montgomery, a Texan woman with a nice house and loving family who finds herself accused of killing her lover’s wife with an axe. Exploring the darkness behind the white picket fences of the American dream is nothing new, but Candy does it very well with the 1980s stylings in contrast to the horror it portrays. Melanie Lynskey and Justin Timberlake co-star.
