NIGHTMARE: SLUMBERLAND (PG)

There comes a time in every movie hunk’s career when he feels a burning need to star in a children’s film. Arnold Schwarzenegger was the Kindergarten Cop, Dwayne Johnson was the Tooth Fairy and now it’s the turn of man mountain Jason Momoa.

Sadly, in Slumberland – based on Winsor McCay’s Little Nemo comic books – you’ll wish the Conan The Barbarian and Game Of Thrones star had stuck to his day job.

He mugs his way through as a horned “man-child” spirit tasked with guiding a troubled pre-teen (Marlow Barkley) through a fantasy dreamworld to be reacquainted with her dead father.

With its disjointed plot and garish special effects, only someone like Jim Carrey could have made this watchable.
