Rum Negroni

-

The World’s Best Column Still rum this year is a stunning 20-years-old number and is a delight enjoyed neat and over ice. However, switching up the gin in a classic Negroni and instead using the Caroni 20-years-old, provides a real depth of flavour, with just enough spice, oakinfluence and vanilla to make it a classic. A subtle tobacco note also just elevates this one out of the norm. The Negroni is 100 years old this year, but it stays young through twists like this. With the Caroni Distillery closing in 2003, perhaps just treat yourself to one of these on special occasions though?
