Peter

Nose: Not overly complex in presentation, a little nutty, with a strong molasses edge that becomes biscuit-y.

Palate: Simple, clean, with a gentle astringency and some heat. Molasses and raisins.

Finish: A short finish with gentle peppery notes. Some alcohol heat stands out for being out of place.

Comments: A little light throughout, but consistent in its presentation. Feels a little young, so probably could be best marketed as a mixing Rum.

Sam

Nose: Roasted nuts and a faint molasses note, but quite sweet and straight-forward in general.

Palate: A bit of tobacco, some orange oil and more of the molasses. Towards the end it develops into something of a Christmas cake.

Finish: Faint baking spices and a little bit of tobacco to boot.

Comments: Easy going and would be a nice and delicate way into the rum drinking world for newcomers.
