Nose: Lovely big hit of treacle tart, with wafts of vanilla and pecans in there.

Palate: Rich, golden syrup all over. With a lovely, gentle crisp green apple note.

Finish: Gentle peppery spice. Dry, tannic in the finish which fades a little more quickly than I initially expected.

Comments: Lots going on, and really rather lovely in many respects, but perhaps just a little tight and constrained by oak.

Nose: A great balance of scorched treacle and a delicate floral bouquet.

Palate: So, so easy to drink! Vanilla, golden syrup, baking spices, orchard fruits and just the right amount of oak in there for me.

Finish: A slightly green vegetal note comes through, but otherwise it’s more of the baking spices and the oak.

Comments: Good balance early doors between depth and delicacy. Altogether an impressive rum that should be enjoyed over ice.
