Peter

Nose: Molasses forward, black cherry and vanilla. Figgy.

Palate: Gently sweet, dark chocolate and morello cherry. Vanilla notes develop, with some milk chocolate.

Finish: A short, fairly sweet finish of milky coffee and chocolate. Fades into a little bitterness at the very end.

Comments: A heavily coloured light rum that feels flavoured rather than as the result of ageing.

Can’t say it doesn’t work, it’s soft and fluffy and interesting.

Sam

Nose: So rich. Molasses, black forest gateaux and cherry liqueur.

Palate: More of the richness and an incredibly coating mouthfeel. Start with sweet cherries and a little oakiness. Then demerara sugar comes through before tobacco and a vegetal note.

Finish: Middling length, with bitter coffee and dark chocolate.

Comments: Rich and with some interesting flavour to it. On the whole balanced, but strays sometimes too bitter.
