Nose: Sweet cinnamon, ginger and vanilla present a recognisable spiced rum here.

Palate: Heavily sugar sweet onto the palate, so much so that the spices are somewhat masked. Develops into rich toffee and vanilla.

Finish: Tingles of ginger and some warming spices.

Comments: Perhaps a little simple in its formulation, and too sweet for my personal preference, but sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Nose: Leathery old books was something I wasn’t expecting, but otherwise welcome to quintessential spiced rum people.

Palate: Honey sweetness and then a big whack of fiery ginger. Some teenage angst in there, before it mellows slightly into a herbal note with lots of vanilla.

Finish: Cinnamon and baking spices linger in the finish.

Comments: Nails its colours to the mast early on and largely executes them well.
