Nose: Gentle vanilla and orange peel.

Hint of baking spices.

Palate: Sweet and oily. Surprisingly discernible aged rum notes come through the gentle spicing.

Finish: The sweet spices give way to all the markers of an aged rum. Lots of oak.

Comments: This is such a conundrum, a discernible rum, gently – almost sympathetically spiced in a balanced manner. Sweet but controlled. Well put together product in any case.

Nose: Maybe more held back than a lot of spiced rums? There’s a ginger and cinnamon, along with the odd recently peeled satsuma too.

Palate: There she/ he is! Wow. Bold and brash, with oaked rum as a clear base, this delivers richness of treacle first before the spiced notes act more as an embellishment. More of the citrus and ginger notes.

Finish: Long, with oak and black tea.

Comments: Great stuff that could be mixed or drunk neat. So good.
