Nose: A lovely whack of pot still rum heads a molasses base. Gentle liquorice and dried fruit notes.
Palate: Thin onto the palate. Clean, with tropical fruit notes of pineapple and mango. Molasses.
Finish: Short, and lacking complexity.
Comments: From the promise of a freshly poured glass of this rum, the disappointment of its sparing use of pot still spirit stretched in a base of neutral rum. This feels young, and a little on the simple side.

Nose: Gentle honeyed notes to start; it has an inviting cosiness with aromas of hazelnut and butterscotch.
Palate: Cola nut mixed with toasted coconut, an unmistakable butteriness reminiscent of buttered popcorn, and a restrained sweetness.
Finish: A slight zing of orange and grapefruit, with a modest warmth.
Comments: An intricate spirit with a nuanced character, although I’d love the finish to be a bit longer.
