Nose: It’s like a lovely slice of treacle tart under your nose. Rich, syrupy honeycomb with baking spices. A gentle note of vanilla and cardamom.

Palate: An oily rush onto the palate.

Lots of sweet notes – condensed cream and brown sugar. Sultanas and dates.

Finish: Gingery, spicy warmth through to the end. The gentlest grip of oak.

Comments: This rum starts well and continues to build to a lovely complexity and intensity. Really rather good.

Nose: Toasted sugar with the spiciness of French toast, along with the honeyed, sappy fruitiness of maple syrup.

Palate: An initial burst of toffee popcorn: creamy and nutty with a dash of pistachio. The silky texture makes this soft and sippable, with dry notes of digestive biscuit.

Finish: A dry, woody finish with a touch of golden syrup and roasted hazelnuts.

Comments: A fun and sippable rum with a pleasant flavour profile that would make a lovely Mai Tai.
