Nose: Rich dates and fruitcake, and a touch of marzipan. A nice edge of ripe pineapple, a little tweak of caramel and all-spice.
Palate: Initially warming. A little thin. A fruitcake character, with dried fruits and baking spices.
Finish: Simple, with some nice, dried stone fruit notes.
Comments: A nose packed full of promise – doesn’t quite live up to expectations, though.

Nose: A gentle nose with a honey sweetness and the rich fruitiness of Madeira wine.
Taste: Exceptionally sippable and smooth, although perhaps a tad thin in terms of texture. Flavours of oak and spice sit alongside a gentle warmth.
Finish: A gradually building warmth with flavours of caramel and wood.
Comments: A generally dry rum that shares some of the elegance of the wine, although I’d have liked a slightly more luscious texture.
