Nose: Caramel and vanilla. Gentle hint of marzipan and some ripe banana.

Palate: Soft and sweet, with a pleasing oily character. A lovely hit of crème brûlée, caramel, and a touch of cooked pears.

Finish: Lovely, lasting dry finish that reveals sweet oak, and a final peppery tingle.

Comments: An easygoing aged rum, with a light-medium bodied character that drinks well neat, but one imagines would be equally fantastic lengthened.

David

Nose: Almost Bourbon-like wood with oak, vanilla and spice, along with a touch of Pedro Ximénez sherry.

Palate: Notes of toffee cheesecake with white chocolate curls are followed by baked plum and apricot with toasted brown sugar, all rounded off with a pleasant creaminess.

Finish: The creaminess lingers, making this feel indulgent. A hint of menthol pepper spice at the very end.

Comments: A wellmade and complex spirit with lots of wood character in it.
