Manatii rum supporting disaster relief in the Caribbean
A new rum brand, Manatii, is setting out to help Caribbean countries recover from devastating natural disasters. The brand was created by brother-andsister team Tom and Emma Mercer in the wake of Hurricane Dorian, which hit the Bahamas in 2019 and wrought catastrophic damage. Five per cent of the brand’s total sales are donated to disaster relief charity IDEA Relief. Manatii’s rum is distilled in the UK by Caribbean distiller Sylvester Herman, using a 300-year-old family recipe from his home nation of St Lucia.
