Students dance away the years with Brindley showcase

FIVE years of outstanding dance performances by students at a Widnes college have been celebrated with a spectacular show at a Runcorn theatre.
Stundents attending Cronton S Sixth Form College’s Professional D Dance Programme (PDP) marked th the anniversary with a performance ti titled Memories at The Brindley.
The production recreated and s showcased the most memorable d dances and performances from the last five years of the PDP’s creations.
The sell out audience was dazzled by fantastic group and solo performances from the highly talented dance students.
Dances chosen from past performances included The Evil Queen, Coven, The Immortal Swan and The Daughters Of Nyx, featuring a wide variety of styles and complexity.
PDP course leader and artistic director Benjamin Musa said: “The show was an amazing trip down memory lane of all the performances from past and present students.
“It is a huge privilege to be part of the Performing Arts Centre Of Excellence and to play a part in bringing these performances to the stage.
“It makes me immensely proud to witness the talent of our students and to help them develop, grow and succeed. “Here’s to the next five years!” At the end of the show, students treated the audience to a sneak preview of their next big performance, Red, which will take place at The Brindley on Tuesday, June 20.
Rave reviews followed the performance as one audience member said: “I could not believe this was a college performance.
“The dancers and variety of dances they performed were absolutely amazing.
“I can’t wait until the next dance production!”
The PDP will also be performing a choreography show on Monday, March 13, at The Brindley. ●
