Breakfast discussion on the bridge so far
APANEL of Mersey Gateway bridge bosses will be on hand to answer questions about the £1.86bn project for a business breakfast in Runcorn.
Business leaders will be able to find out about aspects relating to procurement, supply chain engagement, environment, social responsibility and communications drawing on the Gateway team’s 117 years of experience in the construction and engineering sectors.
The panel will include Hugh O’Connor, Merseylink general manager, who has worked for 40 years in construction, and has been involved in 27 big projects, including the £320m M80 scheme.
He will be joined by Rachel Moseley, procurement and supply chain manager for Kier, one of the three joint venture construction firms taking part in the bridge and roads upgrade scheme.
She has worked on tenders in the nuclear, rail, water, infrastructure, education and highways sectors around the UK.
Also on the Merseylink Civil Contractors Joint Venture panel is Victoria Pollard, environmental manager; Neil Wilcock, employment and skills co-ordinator; Jill Doyle, communications manager; and Andy Butterworth, commercial manager.
The Halton Chamber Of Commerce And Enterprise 1st ● Tuesday event is also to host a presentation about social value featuring ideas and practical examples of how to demonstrate social, economic and environmental contributions.
The session has been funded by Merseylink.
A Halton Chamber spokeswoman said the issues of tolls will not be up for discussion as this aspect was being not being handled by any of the joint venture companies represented.
The 1st Tuesday meeting will be taking place at the events hall, Heath Business And Technical Park, Runcorn, on March 7.
