-

ON Friday night in the Widnes & District Darts League, round 22 of the Mill Brow SC RTB League was played.

In Division One, Simms Cross Institute at home to the Millfield conceded the first game to the Millfield’s Dave Sutton. Paul Batty (18 darts) then levelled for the Stute.

The Millfield took the lead again, with two in a row from Ian Wall and Ronnie Greylish & Ray Dutton.

The gap was narrowed as the Stute’s Ged McPartland & Paul Batty claimed the next game.

However it was not the Stute’s night as two in a row from Chris Hall & Ian Wall and Miker Howard ensured the Millfield’s victory.

A further triumph from Adam Mellor (19 darts) added to their match-winning tally.

It what was merely a consolation, Tony Green secured the final game for the Stute.

The Wellington at home to Mill Brow SC, went a game down as Paul Woodward struck for the Brow with a 19 dart display.

The Brow’s lead did not last long, however, as two in a row for the Wellington from Ste Whitfield and Karl Whitfield edged them ahead.

A third game was added to the total as the Whitfield brothers combined to take the opening pairs’ game.

The healthy lead disappeared, however, as first Dave Powell & Chris Bright pulled a game back and an excellent 16 dart display from Kev Helps & Paul Woodward levelled the score.

With three matches left to play John Glover with a timely 15 dart game edged the Wellington ahead again.

But parity was restored once more with a 14 darter from Alan Friar.

With all resting on the final tight and tense game, Dave Powell sealed the points for the Mill Brow SC.

Widnes Bowling Club at home to Halton Stadium took the first two games through Mark Smith (16 darts) and Joe Batty (18 darts).

The Stadium levelled via Alan Magee and opening pair, Colin Rigby & Barry Stanners. They then took the lead through Alan Clark & Joe Price.

Parity was again restored, this time via Mark Smith & Ben Lyons making the score 3-3, so both teams were in with a chance.

However, the Stadium were quick off the mark as they took the next two games and the match through John Kilkenny (18 darts) and Alan Clark.

The Bowler took the final game as Scott Grady threw a 15-darter.
