Bruce is back with a new take on The Jam

FROM The Jam will be bringing their That’s Entertainment show to Runcorn. The band features former The Jam bassist Bruce Foxton, legendary vocalist and guitarist Russell Hastings.
As part of their tour, they will play at the Brindley on High Street on Tuesday, May 10.
The special series of shows will see the band perform acoustic versions of a selection of songs from The Jam’s extensive back catalogue at Halton Borough Council’s flagship venue.
The Jam exploded onto the punk scene in 1977 and became one of the greatest and biggest selling bands in British history.
In 2000, Q magazine placed All Mod Cons at Number 50 in its list of the 100 Greatest British Albums Ever.
The intimate show is a rare opportunity to hear those songs in this strippeddown way.
Bruce said: “It’s a testament to a good song that they have stood the test of time and don’t need a full band and big production in order to work so well.”
Bruce’s new album Smash The Clock, released in May 2016, was co-written with From The Jam band mate Russell Hastings and featured guest appearances from Paul Weller, Wilko Johnson and Paul Jones.
The album debuted in the UK Top 40 chart and was recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn studios.
Like Bruce’s previous full length Back In The Room, the album was crowdfunded through Pledge Music, with a campaign in which fans could purchase items such as handwritten lyrics, signed CDs, LPs, artwork, etc.
The band said: “Its success was made possible by you, the public, getting involved, for which we can’t thank you enough.
“There may never be a Jam reunion but it’s reassuring to see someone as talented and passionate as Bruce Foxton being able to take these wonderful old songs out on the road and communicate so successfully with this Modern World”.
