I walked 116 miles to Llandudno and back

-

Gemini, said he was inspired to take on the gruelling walk after working at The University Of Liverpool and noticing the number of rough sleepers in the city.

His colossal trek, which included 34 hours of travel, had raised £356.20 for The Whitechapel Centre homeless charity in Liverpool towards a £1,000 target at time of writing.

Some passers-by also realised he must have been doing a charity feat and showed support by beeping and waving.

One person asked if he ‘was doing something special’ and a shopkeeper gave him some painkillers to ease the pain.

Lee conceded that the walk ‘absolutely killed me’ and brought ‘incred- ible pain’ but said he did not want to let down anyone who had donated.

Having enjoyed the experience overall and with his feet still in good shape, Lee is now wondering what to take on next with possible options even including TV endurance shows such as The Island or SAS: Who Dares Wins.

He said: “My feet didn’t have one blister – I bought blister tape which prevented them.

“The worst things were my hips and ankles and severe pain.

“In the final three-four hours of coming back it was really bad.

“I found that when I did a bit of jogging it seemed to go away and if I stood still it got worse.

“My fitness was as I thought and I did it easily.

“I know how to handle my feet, I had no issues. “I did it in less than 48 hours.” Looking forward to what to do next, he said: “Well I’m going to do something. “I don’t know what I want to do. “I want to find someone to do it with me.

“I applied for it (TV), I’m going to apply for a lot more.”

And he bears no ill will to the singer who woke him in Llandudno.

He said: “I don’t know what song it was but he was a good singer!” ● To donate visit virginmoneygiving.com and search for ‘Lee Foran’ and ‘Runcorn to Llandudno’. ●
