Garcia and Roach showcase individual skills to reach the 501s final

ON Monday night in the Widnes & District Darts League, the Halton Stadium 501 individual­s were played at Halton Stadium.

In the pre-lims, Chris Bright, J Lewis, Alan Sutton, Karl Whitfield, Mike Howard, Colin Rigby and Tommy Robertson (150 finish) all won by two games to one.

Meantime, Dave Jones (18 darts and 130 checkout), John Kilkenny, Scott Grady, Lol Fonterigo, Sean Bell, Alan Magee (180), Kevin Garcia, Tommy Owens, Billy Fox, S Byrne and Dave Pickles all won in two straight legs.

In round one, Sean Bell, Alan Magee, Tex Bowles, John Kilkenny, Alex McGill, Terry Roach (180 and 17 second-leg), S Byrne, Mike Howard, Colin Rigby (112 finish) and Ste Whitfield (100 checkout and 17 darts) won in two straight legs. Kevin Garcia, Glyn Owen, Karl Whitfield, Scott Grady, Brian Spruce and Andy Abbott all had to play an extra leg to win through to the second round.

In round two, Sean Bell (16 darts and 180), Colin Rigby, S Byrne (15 and 16 darts and Karl Whitfield all advanced by two games to one, whilst Kevin Garcia (17 and 19 darts), Terry Roach (19 darts), Tex Bowles and Alan Magee all won in two straight legs.

In the quarter-finals, Kevin Garcia, Terry Roach (18 and 17 darts) and Sean Bell (17 darts) all won in two straight legs, whilst Alan Magee (18 darts) won by two games to one.

In the semi-finals, Terry Roach won by two games to one, including two 19 dart legs.

In the second semi-final, Kevin Garcia took the match in two games to one with a 17 dart third leg to set up a showdown with Terry Roach on Finals Night.
