THREE of the North West’s funniest women will be bringing a taste of the Edinburgh Fringe festival to The Studio in Widnes this Friday.

Harriet Dyer will be performing her ‘Dyergnosis Murder’ set, with Hayley Ellis and Lou Conran also on the bill.

Headliner Harriet’s credits include BBC Live At The Fringe, BBC Radio 4 Extra and BBC Ouch.

Among her admirers are the writers at Broadway Baby, who lavished her with praise, with a review that said: “Dyer exists in a joyful equilibrium, at the point where self-deprecation and a total embracement of oddness meet in utterly likeable harmony, beautifully, brilliantly weird, absolutely worth a watch.”

Lou Conran will be taking on delicate subjects and the ups and downs of life with her I Love Lou C show.

Her plaudits include Sarah Millican who her ‘naturally funny’ and comedyreview.co.uk, which said she is ‘masterful at owning a room’.

Hayley Ellis completes the bill, and brings the backing of Radio 2’s Steve Wright who tipped her as ‘fast becoming Manchester’s funniest female’.

Having appeared regularly on Russell Howard’s Good News TV show and also on MTV’s Why Aye Love Geordie Shore and Comedy Set Lists for Virgin TV, she can also be heard on Absolute Radio and her comedy and sketches have been used on Newsjack on Radio 4.

Hayley has performed as tour support for Rob Delaney, Kerry Godliman and Roisin Conaty.

The triple-bill is part of the Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Previews series of shows and will also be an exclusive for The Studio as its Stand-Up At The Studio celebrates having been running for more than a year.

Fest Mag applauded Hayley, writing: “Small in stature and big in energy, Ellis simply makes you laugh.” Tickets are £5. Doors open at 7.30pm. Buy on the door or visit edinburghfringecomedypreviews. eventbrite. co.uk ●
