Young dancers Eclipse the competition

DANCERS from a Widnes troupe have triumped in a dance competition. Members of Eclipse Street Dance Cheer attended the Incredibly Cool Events national weekender competition at Pontins in Prestatyn, North Wales.
Eclipse competed with teams from all over the country won the youth level one stunt competition, got through to the doubles final and came away with 11 trophies from first to fourth place.
With a number of first, second, third and fourth places in the mix, the team have had yet another hugely successful competition.
The dancers in the group ranging from age six to adult age performed a range of cheerleading stunts, pom dance, jazz, contemporary, street and hip hop routines to music that spanned the years from Madness to Lady Gaga and the Hoosiers, Hairspray to David Guetta,
Eclipse displayed their diverse talent and creativity throughout the two days.
Head coach and choreographer Emma Swain, said: “We had an amazing weekend and I am very proud of the team. They are all superstars. It’s fantastic to see them representing Widnes and performing so well against teams from all over the UK.”
Amber Smith, Emilia Howe, both aged eight and six-year-old Freya Howe said Pontins was ‘amazing’ and they had had ‘lots of fun’.
They added they are ‘so happy’ that our cheerleading stunt group were the champions.
The team also danced at the British Grand Prix held at Silverstone and will perform at KidsFest in Stanley Park, Liverpool, for the James Bulger Memorial Trust on Sunday, August 20.
Eclipse are currently seeking dancers to add to the squad.
The team has its own premises, practice four times a week and the first week is a free of charge taster
