Parks are the place to be
HALTON’S parks will be full of exciting, fun events for young people including the MikeFest festival with an appearance from ITV’s The Voice contestant Max Vickers this summer say organisers.
Events will be taking place throughout the month at Runcorn Hill Park and Phoenix Park in Runcorn and Upton Rocks in Widnes.
All activities are free and are available for young people aged 10-19 years and for those aged 10-25 years with additional needs.
From crazy zorb football to other sports and games, competitions, challenges and a free picnic, organisers said there will be loads to do to keep the summer break boredom at bay.
The Summer Schedule programme has been organised by Young Addaction on behalf of Halton’s Children’s Trust and Halton Borough Council.
Four of the events have already taken place at Victoria Park in Widnes during July.
All of the evenings run from 5-8pm on Fridays and Saturdays at the following locations on the following dates: ● Upton Rocks, Widnes, August 4-5 and August 11-12. ● ● Runcorn Hill Park also known as Heath Park, Runcorn, July 29-30. ● Phoenix Park, Runcorn, August 18-19 and August 25-26.
Also, taking place on Saturday to Sunday, August 29-30, from 11am4pm is the Runcorn summer fete at Runcorn Hill Park.
Activities include classic vehicles, miniature steam engines, baby big top circus, model boats, a boat race, a fair, face painting, donkey rides and trade stalls.
The MikeFest festival will be taking place at Runcorn Hill Park on July 29-30, with a headlining performance from The Voice contestant Max Vickers on Sunday, July 30.
