Rule hails the fans’ great support after victory in France

-

● WIDNES CEO James Rule has issued a statement thanking the club’s supporters following the dramatic 12-10 victory over Catalans Dragons in Perpignan that kept the Vikings in Super League.

Rule stated: “On Saturday, Widnes Vikings were cheered on to victory in our most important game of many years.

“I would like to thank each and every Member and supporter who made that long journey to France.

“The passion that you showed for your team was incredible and on behalf of everyone at Widnes Vikings I would like to express our gratitude to you all.

“At the final whistle the players rushed over to be with supporters, gratefully giving them their kit and embracing them in delight at securing our Super League status.

“It was a pleasure to see what your support meant to the players and in turn what their performance meant to you.

“Of course, we know that not everyone could attend the game in person.

“Across homes and pubs in our local community, many more people were cheering on the boys.

“I can confirm that it made a real difference to us all knowing that the Borough was behind us as we headed out for such a pivotal game.

“Thank-you once again your passion and support is the vital factor in driving our membership as we prepare for the 2018 campaign.”

The Vikings have now launched their 2018 Stronghold Membership packages with savings for renewing Members, family groups and supporters signing up during the early-bird period.

Members signing up before October 8 can spread the cost of early bird Membership with 0% finance.
