‘This isn’t mischief, it’s criminal damage’

-

DAMAGE caused by firebugs at the rear of a Widnes dental practice on ‘Mischief Night’ has been condemned.

A fire was started near the site on Danescroft on the Upton estate in Hough Green.

Cheshire Fire And Rescue Service (CFRS) attended with an appliance for an hour to put out the fire which started in bins at the rear of the dental practice, which suffered damage on Monday, October 30.

Cllr Phil Harris of the Hough Green ward said: “Without the attendance of the fire service there might not have been a dental practice there today and they did as always a great job.

“This isn’t mischief, its criminal damage. If the fire had got into the roof it might not have been stopped.

“This is the only NHS dental practice for miles, and if this sort of incident continues we could lose a valuable medical service for the whole community and peoples livelihoods could be put at risk.

“Anyone who knows who was responsible for this arson should contact the police on 101.”
