Police probe ‘clown mask’ gang who terrorised kids

POLICE are investigating reports that a gang wearing clown masks terrorised a Runcorn neighbourhood on Hallowe’en as horrified children were trick or treating.

A Cheshire Constabulary spokesman said officers were called to Hallwood Park Avenue at 5.30pm.

There had been reports that three men on motorbikes in clown masks were chasing members of the public on the footpath network.

Rumours that members of the gang were alleged to have been wielding machetes have been denied by police.

The spokesman said: “On arrival officers made a search of the area and found no trace of the men.
