Get yourself health checked for winter

NHS Halton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is holding a free winter health event at the Halton stadium in Widnes.

Free flu jabs will be on offer for residents aged 65 or older, pregnant or who have a long-term medical condition.

Those hoping to have a vaccination have been asked to register in advance so enough is in stock by emailing communications@ haltonccg.nhs.uk or calling 01928 593 479.

Residents who attend are not required to provide personal details.

Medical staff will be on hand to answer questions and visitors can speak to GPs and find out about Halton’s GP Extra service, A&E and also the borough’s urgent care centres in Runcorn and Widnes.

A medicines management team will be available to discuss prescriptions and the work of neighbourhood pharmacies.

There will also be a chance to speak to Halton CCG chief office Dave Sweeney in a health debate.

Other services and organisations will also be in attendance.

The winter health event is at the Select Security Stadium on Lower House Lane from 4-7pm on Monday, November 20.
