Talented dancer joins cast of panto
HALTON panto’s male principal dancer Jamie Luke will be ‘Stepsing’ out at The Brindley after roles with H from the pop band Steps and at Disneyland Paris.
Agile Jamie from Great Grimsby has been dancing since the age of 14 when he began his training at different dance schools.
He said this is where he learned his passion was for performing art, which has never left him.
Jamie studied at SLP Performing Arts College for four years learning musical theatre and while there performed in many pantomimes such as Cinderella.
His talent has enabled him to dance with H from Steps and Jez Edwards from CBBC.
Once graduating from SLP, he won a contract to work at Disneyland Paris where he has been for the last two years.
He said: “Having returned to the UK, I am really looking forward to the next adventure.
“I hope you all enjoy this fantastic production of Sleeping Beauty at this great venue.”
He will be joining I’m A Celebrity TV personality and Benidorm actress Crissy Rock, Rebecca Lake, Christopher Pym, Andrew Curphey and veteran Panto dame Robert Squire.
Actress and singer Charlie Griffiths has also joined the cast, and punters might recognise her from last year when she dazzled The Brindley crowds as Fairy Flustered, one of the show’s most popular characters.
This year’s Halton pantomime will also feature theatre stalwart Nick Wymer from his roles in Father Ted, Paul Merton: The Series and The Bill, who will play the King, and has also appeared in adverts for Weetabix and a Bollywood blockbuster as well as numerous TV shows and theatre productions touring as far afield as Beirut.
Sleeping Beauty, presented by Polka Dot Pantomimes, runs from December 11 to January 14. ●
