Sure Start volunteer call

VOLUNTEERS are being sought to support older vulnerable residents in Halton to help to reduce loneliness.

Sure Start To Later Life said the role involves befriending, chatting, assisting them to go out and using computers.

Halton Borough Council said all training is provided and taking part could lead to a full time paid job.

Spaces have become available after previous volunteers have moved into work at the local authority and elsewhere.

Others have had to reduce their participation because of other commitments. Cllr Marie Wright (health and wellbeing) said: “No matter how little time you have there is always someone who would benefit from a chat over a cuppa.”
