THUGS SMASHED MAN OVER HEAD IN BIKE THEFT ATTEMPT:

TWO would-be robbers hit a 51-yearold man on the back of the head and tried to steal his bicycle in Runcorn.

Cheshire police said the victim was walking with a bike on Stenhills Crescent between 8.45pm and 9.45pm on Sunday, November 5, when he was struck with an object.

The thugs then tried to take his bike and assaulted him further before fleeing towards Picton Avenue.

A Cheshire police spokesman said: “The first suspect is described as being white, aged between 25 and 30 years old, of stocky build, with stubble, fair coloured hair to his shoulders and was wearing a blue jacket and grey trousers.

“The second suspect is described as being white, aged between 25 and 30 years old, of stocky build and was wearing a black hooded jacket which was pulled tight over his face.The victim was treated at hospital for an injury to his head and hand and has since been discharged.”
