RUNCORN TOWN have responded from their disappointing dip in form with two consecutive victories last week – and manager Chris Herbert is relishing a bumper schedule this month that will see his side play eight times.

The Pavilions outfit lost their footing at the top of the Hallmark Security League Premier Division after a wretched run of five defeats in seven, but a dramatic late comeback against West Didsbury & Chorlton last Wednesday night set the tone last Saturday’s 5-0 thrashing of Barnton.

“It’s like I said – we just need games,” Herbert asserted.

“As soon as they come we’ll pick up the points, and that’s exactly what’s happened!”

And the boss is excited by the prospect of constant football this month.

“That’s what we want! The more games will benefit us. We just want to play.

“The lads are fresh and ready to go.

Town were staring another defeat in the face when they found themselves 2-0 down to West Didsbury & Chorlton, but a famous comeback was sealed by Michael Carberry’s late winner.

Herbert praised the goal as “massive” to their season before talking of the professional perfor- mance his side turned out against behind pacesetting rivals RunBarnton, who sit rock bottom of corn Linnets – Herbert admitted the table after winning just one wins are vital in their chase for game all season. the second promotion place.
