Yobs target ski slope users

YOBS have been making misery for residents in two neighbouri­ng Runcorn neighbourh­oods including throwing stones and intimidati­ng ski slope users.

Police reported there had been a ‘large increase’ in anti-social behaviour around Norton and Murdishaw.

PCSO Chris McCue said most incidents were neighbour disputes, vehicle queries and Halton Council-related issues. However, young menaces have been intimidati­ng visitors to Runcorn Snowsports Centre ski slope and Murdishaw Community Centre. CCTV is being reviewed. A fire was also set behind Norton Lodge Care Home.

In Murdishaw, residents of Tilbury Place, Humphreys Close and Hitchens Close have suffered a rise in criminal damage including to fence posts and windows being smashed.

Writing in a neighbourh­ood newsletter, PCSO McCue said upcoming police surgeries will take place at Murdishaw Community Centre from 5-6pm on Thursday, June 14; noon-1pm on Wednesday, June 20; and 5-6pm on Tuesday, June 26.
