Figures on fight to kick drugs

Two families had their children in need plans closed due to reductions in illicit parental drug use.
The report said Young Addaction had been working to educate school students about the dangers of alcohol and drugs, reaching 28 pupils on average each week and 391 in total in three months accessing diversionary activities such as ice skating, music workshops, trampolining, panto, sports and trips.
There were 515 ‘brief interventions’ in youth clubs during the quarter and the Young Addaction outreach team spent 191 hours working in potential grooming and sex abuse hotspots around the borough.
Alcohol guidance was given to 772 young people during the three months, the report said.
